Radical antegrade modular pancreatosplenectomy (RAMPS)

This is a recently introduced procedure, designed to increase peritumoural safety margins in case of malignant tumours of the body and tail of the pancreas.  The intervention requires an en bloc excision of the body and tail of the pancreas with the spleen and in addition also a regional lymphadenectomy (removal of the lymph-fat tissue) and excision of the pre-renal fascia.

It is a long and complex surgery which guarantees an excellent oncologic resection.

Patient postoperative recovery is gradual.
